About our service

Sefton Child Care Service is a privately owned long day care centre that has proudly supported local families since 1998. We provide high-quality early childhood education and care for children aged 16 months to 6 years in a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported to thrive.

Licensed for 39 children per day, our smaller centre allows us to build meaningful relationships with every child and their family. We pride ourselves on creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere where children develop a strong sense of belonging, confidence, and independence through caring relationships and engaging learning experiences.

Our recently renovated learning environments have been thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and exploration. Children learn through play in three age-appropriate learning spaces:

  • Discoverers (16–36 months)
  • Explorers (36–48 months)
  • Inventors (48–72 months)

Our educational program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework & National Quality Frameworks, and is shaped by each child’s interests, strengths, and family input. We believe every child learns best through meaningful, play-based experiences that encourage confidence, problem-solving, and a lifelong love of learning.

To support children’s health and wellbeing, we provide nutritious meals throughout the day, including breakfast, morning tea, a hot lunch, afternoon tea, and late afternoon tea.

We value strong partnerships with families and keep parents connected to their child’s learning through the OWNA app, where educators regularly share photos, learning stories, daily updates, and important communication.

As part of our commitment to our community, we work closely with our local primary school to support children’s transition to school and participate in local community initiatives. We are also strengthening our connections with our local library and embedding sustainable practices into everyday learning through experiences such as caring for our herb garden and composting.
